A play-based enrichment class in which children will engage in age-appropriate activities such as learning letters, numbers, geometric shapes, colors, and much more. At the same time, at Little Nest we focus on growing their socio-emotional development by incorporating emotional literacy, for them to articulate their big feelings for their distress to come out verbally instead of behaviorally. This class focuses on main areas of development such as Cognitive, Receptive language, expressive language, attention span, fine motor skills, social skills, sensory processing and daily life skills. Skills such as pouring water into a cup, using utensils, following sequences and all practical life skills are included.
In-person, Spanish introductory class for practical life skills & conversational skills. With in this class, the students will learn the basics of conversational Spanish, designed for students that are new or with limited exposure to the Spanish language. We want to keep this class within a small ratio 1:4.
Spanish practical life class, involves activities that help children develop independence, concentration, and a sense of responsibility.
These activities are based on everyday tasks and can be applied to children of all ages.
Practical life activities fall into four main categories:
Care of self:
Activities like washing hands, spreading butter on a toast, pouring water
into a cup and cutting a banana.
Grace and courtesy:
Activities like greeting people, waiting for turns, and disagreeing
peacefully, socializing.
Control of movement:
Activities like small motor practice with buttons, zippers, laces
and awareness of where their body is in space.
Care of the environment:
Activities like sweeping, dusting, and watering plants,
returning items to its place and picking up toys.
In this class, parent/caregiver will learn age-appropriate activities to engage with the infant, appropriate toys, how to stimulate gross motor skills, fine motor skills, speech, sensory play, and the importance of predictability, structure, and emotional literacy to strengthen a healthy form of attachment to their infant. All the concepts learned in this class will be play-based, with music, and keeping the infant developmental milestones in mind as a baseline for their learning.
